Oman bids farewell to the mother of goodness, Rahma Al Musafer

Muscat: After 27 years in charitable work, the country bids farewell to Rahma Al Musafer, the founder and head of Al Rahma Charitable Society. She died during a treatment trip outside the Sultanate of Oman.

Al Rahma Charitable Society for Motherhood and Child Care is one of the oldest and most famous charitable societies in Oman, and thousands of needy children and families benefit from its initiatives. The association provides them with various assistance to improve their standard of living, in addition to specialised programmes to support students.

Al Rahma Association said: "The strong leadership of Rahma Al Musafer contributed to the launch of 17 initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic. The association announced it to support people affected by the pandemic."

The total aid of the association in the year 2020 amounted to more than OMR 1.8 million.

It received the Rahma prized and was honoured locally and internationally for its unique initiatives to support people in need. It was also honoured by the Honourable Lady, spouse of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, on Omani Women's Day in October 2020.

The Ministry of Social Development said in its condolences to the family of the deceased: "The Ministry of Social Development extends its sincere condolences to the family of volunteers working in the Sultanate of Oman and to the family of the late Rahima Al Musafer, head of Al-Rahma Association for Motherhood and Childhood Care, who passed away on Wednesday. May God bless the deceased with his mercy and forgiveness."

The members of the board of directors of the Oman Charitable Organisation and its employees also offered their sincere condolences on the death of "Rahima Al Musafer", president of the Al-Rahma Association for Maternity Care.
