OWCA too good for Pak Women, Lakshmi slams 213 in ISAS win

Muscat: Sakshi Vijaya’s magnificent 101 not out off 71 powered Oman Women Cricket Academy (OWCA) to an emphatic 71-run win over Pakistan Women in a Women’s League T20 match at OC Turf 2 in Amerat on Monday.

OWCA amassed 205 for 2 in 20 overs thanks to brilliant batting by Sakshi and fellow opener Nitya Joshi (44) who were involved in a 101-run stand for the first wicket.

Pakistan Women were never really in the race as nobody stayed long enough to form a meaningful partnership with opener Fiza Javed who remained unbeaten at 83 off 69 in her team’s final score of 134 for 5. Hira Javed was the only other batter to reach a double figure score of 18.

Brief Scores (Women’s League T20): OWCA Women 205 for 2 in 20 overs (Sakshi Vijaya 101 – 13x4, 1x6, Nitya Joshi 44 – 7x4) beat Pakistan Women's Team 134 for 5 in 20 overs (Fiza 83 – 8x4) by 71 runs.

Hema helps MCCC Yellow to victory
Prathiesh Hema struck a vital 61 not out off 39 to help MCCC Yellow to a comfortable 9-wicket victory against Bosher Sports Centre (BSC) in a 30-over Junior League Under-16 clash at Muscat Municipality ground 2 on Saturday.

Hema was outstanding with the ball too, taking 2 for 5 in his 4-over spell as BSC was dismissed for 113 in 29.4 overs. Hamza Muhammed picked up 2 for 6.
MCCC Yellow raced to the target in only 11.4 overs, scoring 114 for 1 thanks to top knocks by Hema and Shanbhag Mitul (34).

Brief Scores (Junior Division U16): BSC 113 all out in 29.4 overs (Vedan Sable 25 – 3x4, Prathiesh Hema 2-5, Hamza Muhammed 2-6) lost to MCCC Yellow 114 for 1 in 11.4 overs (Prathiesh Hema 61 – 5x4, Shanbhag Mitul 34 – 4x4) by 9 wickets.

Lakshmi double ton powers ISAS win
In another Under-16 match, Indian School Al Seeb’s (ISAS) run machine Lakshmi Narayana’s unbeaten 213 off 111 was the highlight of his team’s huge 134-run victory against MCCC Blue at OAC 3 ground in Seeb.

Lakshmi struck 30 fours in his massive knock, pushing ISAS to 287 for 2 in 30 overs.

MCCC Blue failed to respond with equal force, folding up for 153 in 25.2 overs, Khasbage Toyash topscoring with 49. Pradhyun Srivatsan, Abdul Samad and Abdul Sami all took two wickets each.
