Weather update: Rough sea expected in parts of Oman

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has witnessed dust storms and a rise in the sea waves level due to the Northwesterly winds, said Oman Meteorology.

"Northwesterly light to moderate winds, sometimes active, are causing storms over open and desert areas. Sea waves are rising to reach  (2.0 -3.0 metres ) on most coasts of the Sultanate of Oman," Oman Meteorology said in a statement.

According to the Meteorology, some monitoring stations have recorded wind speed as follows : 25 knots in Al Halaniyat, 24 knots in Qarn Al Alam, 23 knots in Fahud and 21 knots in Duqm. Ibri monitoring station has recorded 19 knots and 18 knots recorded in Masirah.
