Expats arrested for illegal fishing in South Al Sharqiyah

Muscat: A number of unlicensed fishing boats were seized and several expats have been arrested in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

"The fisheries control team continues its control campaigns in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali, where it was able to seize a number of boats practising fishing without a license, and arrested violated expatriate workers on board. The fishes were confiscated, and the boats and fishing equipment were seized. The legal procedures are being completed against the violators," the Directorate General of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate said in a statement.
