Dar Al Atta’a signs MoU for helping women, children
Sayyida Ma’ani bint Abdullah Al Busaidi, Director General for Family Development at the Ministry of Social Development signed the MoU on behalf of the Ministry, while from the side of Dar Al Atta’a Association, it was signed by Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Dar Al Atta’a Association.

Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development signed with Dar Al Atta’a Association a memorandum of understanding (MoU) yesterday on cooperation in a number of fields serving the family, woman and childhood affairs.

Sayyida Ma’ani bint Abdullah Al Busaidi, Director General for Family Development at the Ministry of Social Development signed the MoU on behalf of the Ministry, while from the side of Dar Al Atta’a Association, it was signed by Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Dar Al Atta’a Association.

The memorandum of understanding covered a number of fields, mainly development of the abilities and skills of the women through activation of participation in the programme on legal empowerment of women, boosting skills for female members of the civil society associations, enhancement of the use of information technology and communications to further empower women and to improve employment opportunities for women.

The MoU also included family protection with the provision of decent housing for youth under the patronage of the Ministry of Social Development and within the available capabilities of Dar Al Atta’a.

The MoU covered provision of support for the cases benefiting from Dar Al Wifaq Centre affiliated to the Ministry of Social Development.

It also covered the field of social and economic empowerment of families through support of some projects aimed at economic empowerment of families and individuals under the umbrella of social security and families with limited income.,

It also aims at organising marketing and promotional exhibitions and creation of marketing outlets for products of families, organising joint training programmes, coordination on providing financial support for cases discharged from Dar Al Wifaq such as hiring of houses and provision of living supplies for them, cooperation between the Ministry of Social Development and Dar Al Atta’a in the field of protection and support of guests of Dar Al Wifaq and provision of their cost of treatment at the private health establishments among others.
