Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has warned against the circulation and use of a number of hair dye products due to their non-compliance with the approved standard specifications.
"The Consumer Protection Authority has warned against the use of a number of hair dye products that come in the form of hair shampoo of different brands, and has also notified the suppliers to stop their circulation and withdraw them from the market, due to their non-compliance with the approved standard specifications related to safety requirements in cosmetics and personal care," CPA said in a statement.
The authority indicated that samples were tested for the Ginger Essence Black Shampoo of the brand (MOKERU PROFESSIONAL), Argan oil hair dye colour shampoo of the brand (MOKERU PROFESSIONAL) and Argan Speedy Colour Shampoo (Natural Black) of the brand (NITRO CANADA CINEMA PROFESSIONAL HAIR).
The examination indicated that the products did not meet the (PH) value and the explanatory data label according to the Gulf Technical Regulation No. (GSO 1943/2021) related to safety requirements in cosmetics and personal care.
The authority advises all consumers not to use the products and to dispose of the samples they have, with an emphasis on purchasing products from reliable sources through which their source can be traced. It also calls on all suppliers to commit not to trade these products in the local markets in the Sultanate of Oman, in order to preserve the health and safety of consumers and to avoid any legal accountability.
