Muscat: A new diploma programme in fintech, which also includes its applications in the banking and financial sectors as part of its subject matter, will be rolled out at the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS).
The course will be jointly designed by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO).
The agreement aims to enhance awareness of technical developments in the banking and financial systems in the Sultanate, especially in light of the current changes that the world is witnessing in the field of technologies and innovations that have affected the way the banking and financial sectors work.
Technology has led to the emergence of new technical products and services, as well as development of new subject matter, skills, and capabilities of human resources in the financial sectors.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Central Bank of Oman by Taher bin Salem bin Abdullah Al Omari, chief executive officer of the bank, and on behalf of the College of Banking and Financial Studies by the Dean, Dr Zahran bin Salem Al Silti.
