
Muscat: Three players of the Oman National Football team have tested positive for Covid-19. They will be absent from today's match against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman Football Association (OFA), said.
A statement issued online by OFA said, "The PCR tests conducted for members of our first national team mission on Wednesday, January 26, showed three positive cases among the team members, namely Juma'a Al Habsi, Ahmed Al Kaabi and Khaled Al Buraiki.Thus, they join the list of those absent from Thursday's match against the Saudi Arabia in the seventh round of the final stage of the Asian Cup qualifiers for the World Cup - Qatar 2022."
In order to preserve the safety of the players, and in accordance with the binding procedures, the concerned players have been subjected to quarantine.
OFA had previously said that players Essam Al Subhi and Abdulaziz Al Ghilani, in addition to the team’s photographer, Hani Al Qasimi had also tested positive for Covid-19.
