Oman elected as International Bureau of Education president

Geneva: Oman has been elected the president of a prestigious global education body for 2016-17.
The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Education, took part in the 65th session of the Council of the International Bureau of Education (IBE), which was held in Geneva during January 13 to 15, 2016.
The Sultanate was represented in the session by Dr. Hamoud bin Khalfan Al Harthy, Undersecretary of Ministry of Education for Education and Curricula. The Sultanate was elected the president of the IBE for 2016-2017.
The IBE is the UNESCO institute specializing in educational contents, methods and structures. Its overall mission is to contribute to the achievement of quality education for all members.
The IBE was founded in 1925 and joined the UNESCO in 1969. The Sultanate is a member in the IBE.
