National Museum puts on display Kiswa alka’bah collection

Muscat: The National Museum has put on display the Kiswa alka’bah from the collection of the late Sultan Qaboos.

The National Museum is displaying at the splendours of Islam gallery, textile panels (kiswat al-ka’bah) bearing the verses (28) and (29) of Surat Al Hajj. These are from the collections of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

It is said that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the late King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had presented to His Majesty Qaboos Bin Said.

It was manufactured in the Kiswa factory of the Holy Ka’aba, Mecca, in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and is made of pure silk, gold and silver threads, natural gum and cotton.
