Muscat: A number of violations and abuses related to the Land Transport Law have been detected by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

According to Oman News Agency (ONA), the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has monitored a number of violations and abuses related to the Land Transport Law issued by Royal Decree No. 10/2016 and its executive regulations.

The Ministry has taken legal measures against the violators, as part of the efforts undertaken by the Ministry in regulating the land transport sector.

The violations committed included exceeding the axial weight of trucks, vehicle operating cards, and engaging in land transport activities without a licence from the ministry. ln addition to transport violations by foreign land transportation, including transporting between two points within the Sultanate of Oman without a permit from the Ministry, and staying within the Sultanate of Oman for a period exceeding seven days without a permit.
