Muscat: All First Division matches will be held at sports complexes to ensure the presence of equipped ambulances and qualified crews to deal with any emergency cases, said Oman Football Association (OFA).
"The Oman Football Association clarifies that providing ambulance crews in accordance with safety and security standards for players and for all parties to the match is one of the topics that occupy the hierarchy of priorities of the federation and its affiliated sports clubs, and it is also one of the basic national and international requirements for holding football competitions in safe conditions," OFA said in a statement.
In order to take proactive measures and decisions that would enhance the protection of players, and based on coordination with the Ministry, it was decided to transfer all First Division matches to sports complexes to ensure the presence of equipped ambulances and qualified crews to deal with any emergency cases.
In this context, the Federation confirmed that this procedure is a temporary solution.
The federation would like to thank all the concerned clubs for their understanding, cooperation for the benefit of the players, stressing at the same time the need for sports clubs to take all safety measures and provide qualified paramedics during training.
Oman Football Federation announced that it will coordinate with the concerned authorities to organise and intensify training courses for paramedics and medical cadres working in sports clubs and raise their efficiency to perform the roles assigned to them in an optimal manner.
