
Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,221.58 points, up 0.11 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.29 per cent at 527.69 points.
National Finance, up 8.91 per cent was the top gainer while, Ominvest down 1.90 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Ominvest Perpetual Sukuk were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 555 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR8.24 million, with more than 18.2 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded securities, 17 advanced, 7 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, Domestic investors were net buyers for OMR353,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR188,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR165,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,714.85 points, up 0.12 per cent. National Finance, Global Investment Holding, Muscat Finance, Oman & Emirates Holding and Takaful Oman were up 8.91 per cent, 4.76 per cent, 3.51 per cent, 3.17 per cent and 2.86 per cent respectively. Ominvest, Sohar International Bank and National Bank Oman were down 1.90 per cent, 0.85 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,069.33 points, up 0.36 per cent. Jazeera Steel Product and Al Maha Ceramics were up 2.63 per cent and 1.35 per cent respectively. Voltamp Energy was the only loser by 0.89 per cent.
Services Index was up by 0.15 per cent before closing at 1,646.31 points. SMN Power Holding, Al Suwadi Power, Sembcorp Salalah, OIFC and Al Jazeera Services were up 6.98 per cent, 2.08 per cent, 1.35 per cent, 0.66 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively. Renaissance Services and Omantel were down 0.92 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively.
