Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, paid a visit to the Royal Guard of Oman on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
"Upon His Majesty's arrival at the Guard headquarters, His Majesty was received by Major General Salim bin Ali Al Hosani, Commander of the Royal Guard of Oman and senior officers of the Guard," the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a statement.
His Majesty listened to a briefing on the process of modernisation and development of the Royal Guard of Oman and the advanced weapons, devices and other technical and technological equipment that was provided to it and with what enabling it to perform its national and operational tasks and duties with all efficiency and aptitude.
His Majesty the Sultan also paid a noble visit to the headquarters of the Military music of the Royal Guard of Oman, where His Majesty witnessed the extent of the development witnessed by the military music of the military band of the Royal Guard of Oman, and the musical equipment, needs and technical facilities that have been supplied to it.
After that, His Majesty the Supreme Commander made an inspection tour of the units of the Royal Guard of Oman, during which His Majesty was briefed on a number of main sections, which embody the readiness and operational efficiency of the Omani staff of the Royal Guard.
His Majesty the Sultan also visited the Royal Guard of Oman Technical College, where His Majesty was briefed on the national role played by the College in providing the country with academic, educational, technical cadres of various disciplines. His Majesty the Supreme Commander took a souvenir photo with his sons who are members of the Royal Guard of Oman.
