Ejada system to be launched in Oman early in January

Muscat: The Ejada system for measuring performance will be implemented in the Sultanate of Oman on Sunday, January 2, 2022.

"The government of the Sultanate of Oman will start next Sunday, the implementation of Ejada system for measuring performance, ‘the system for measuring individual performance and institutional proficiency’, which is one of the main enablers of Oman Vision 2040. It comes in implementation of the royal orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik related to raising the efficiency of the state's administrative apparatus,” Oman News Agency (ONA), said in a statement.

The system, supervised by the Ministry of Labour, seeks to find the tools and standards necessary to build a culture of proficiency in job performance and improve performance appraisal systems, through the governance and evaluation of the individual performance of the employee and comparing his performance with the main objectives and indicators of the unit.

Mohammad bin Al Waleed Al Hinai,  Director of the Individual Performance Measurement and Institutional Proficiency System Project said: "The  system includes 57 units of the civil state’s administrative apparatus and other public legal persons, and more than 175,000 employees in the public sector will benefit from it."

"The system will contribute to achieving Oman’s Vision 2040, improving the quality of civil government services provided to individuals and institutions, helping units to complete their annual operational plans, enhancing employee affiliation with the unit, enhancing the return on investment for human capital and facilitating employee follow-up. In addition to evaluating the performance of employees, defining their tasks, finding harmony between the organisation's plan and the employee's plan, and linking the entitlement of incentives and rewards to the level of productivity,” Al Hinai added.

Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Kalbani, Assistant  Director of Ejada System said: "The standard of the individual performance measurement system “Ejada” is the extent to which the employee achieves his goals and the main results in his individual plan that he has set. The extent of achievement is measured in light of the indicators placed for each result."
