The National University of Science and Technology, Oman and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia held a virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing on 23rd December 2021 using the video conferencing platform.
The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Ali Saud Al Bimani, Vice-chancellor of the National University (NU Oman), and Professor Ts. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Vice-chancellor of UniversitiTeknologi PETRONAS (UTP). A total of 25 delegates guests from both the institutions virtually attended the signing event.
The MoU signing ceremony emphasized the collaboration between NU Oman and UTP to pursue and strengthen joint research, collaboration and capacity building in teaching and learning, student and staff exchange visits, organizing corporate training programs, seminars, conferences and scientific public lectures. Adjunct Lecturer and Visiting Professor form a part of the initiative on sharing knowledge and expertise.
The MoU was signed by both the Vice-chancellors and witnessed by the senior executives of both the institutions. Dr. Ali Saud Al Bimani said in his speech that both the institutions will greatly benefit from this collaboration and this will support NU in activating its role to the Omani Vision of 2040 to enhance internationalization of the Omani education system and infrastructure.
