Muscat: While winter is here and all are in need of warm water, here are some safety procedures to follow in order to avoid the hazards of water heaters. People are urged to disconnect the power from the heater when not using it or while bathing.
The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) issued safety procedures to avoid the hazards of water heaters.
The procedures are as follows: "Select types of high quality and specifications approved by the authorities concerned, Regular maintenance of the heater connections and parts is must to ensure its cleanliness. Ensure continuous running water to the heater. Disconnect the power from the heater in case of water shortage. Regulate the water temperature not exceeding 60 degree centigrade."
