Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik returned home on Friday evening after concluding his private visit to the United Kingdom (UK) which lastedً for several days.
During the visit, His Majesty the Sultan met with Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Head of the Commonwealth, in addition to a number of senior UK officials.
His Majesty was accompanied by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the UK.
His Majesty's visit aimed to upgrade the advanced relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom, to serve the two countries' joint interests and achieve aspirations of their peoples. The visit also touched on regional and international topics of common interest.
