Women’s market resumes activity after Covid shutdown

Muscat: After halting operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Jalan Bani Buhassan Women's Market in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate has opened again.

The Oman News Agency (ONA), said in a statement that Jalan Bani Buhassan Women's Market  resumed its activity after stopping due to the pandemic, amid adherence to the precautionary measures that are approved by the competent authorities. The market is one of the more popular and traditional markets, which is dominated by women sellers. The market will be held every Friday of every week.

Nawal bint Rashid Al Rajhya, head of the women's market in the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Buhassan, said that the aim of establishing the women's market is to highlight the role of women in society and to help productive families and the social security category, adding that the market offers products from local industries and Omani clothing and sewing.
