
Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,075.11 points, up 0.62 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.12 per cent at 530.38 points.
United Finance, up 5.77 per cent, was the top gainer while, SMN Power Holding down 4.44 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Ominvest Perpetual Sukuk were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 390 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR7.07 million, with more than 13.5 million shares changing hands. Out of 41 traded securities, 14 advanced, 10 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, Domestic investors were net sellers for OMR5 million while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR4.87 million followed by foreign investors for OMR164,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,536.34 points, up 0.52 per cent. United Finance, Muscat Finance, Ahli Bank, Global Investment Holding and Bank Muscat were up 5.77 per cent, 5.66 per cent, 2.63 per cent, 1.67 per cent and 1.22 per cent respectively. Al Sharqia Investment, Al Anwar Investment and Ominvest were down 1.18 per cent, 1.08 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,998.09 points, up 0.16 per cent. Oman Cement and Raysut Cement were up 2.55 per cent and 0.84 per cent respectively. NAPI, Galfar Engineering and Al Anwar Ceramics were down 2.31 per cent, 1.33 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively.
Services Index was up by 0.33 per cent before closing at 1,578.58 points. Renaissance Services, Ooredoo, Omantel and OIFC were up 1.91 per cent, 1.13 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 0.70 per cent respectively. SMN Power Holding, Al Suwadi Power, Al Jazeera Services and Muscat Gases were down 4.44 per cent, 2.04 per cent, 1.22 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively.
