Dr. Laila meets with Saudi minister
Oman participates in 41st meeting of Arab Social Affairs Ministers Council

Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Social Development, will take part in the 41st meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, scheduled to be held during 22 and 23 December 2021 in Riyadh.

The ministry will also represent the Sultanate of Oman in the Conference on the Management of Social Transformation Program for Social Affairs’ Arab Ministers (MOST). The conference is held on the sidelines of the 41st meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs under the title “Asymmetric impact of COVID-19”. The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation is headed by Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development.

MOST conference will discuss the containment of Covid-19 and its social repercussions. The conference will also witness the presentation of the award of HRH Sabeeka Ibrahim Al Khalifa to Encourage Productive Families for the Year 2022.

Dr. Laila Al Najjar met with Majid Al Ghanimi, Saudi Deputy Minister of Human Resources for Social Development.

The two sides discussed aspects of cooperation in various fields between the two ministries.

During the meeting, a detailed presentation was delivered on the ministries’ services in the fields of family empowerment, child protection, combating beggary, welfare and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities and social protection. 

Dr. Laila Al Najjar was also briefed on the Saudi experience pertaining to aspects of family affairs. She was also briefed on role of the Family Affairs Council and the experience of the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Centre for Women on persons with disabilities and their protection.
