Royal Navy of Oman marks Armed Forces, Retirees Days
RNO Commander awards the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal to a number of RNO personnel.

Al Mussanah:  The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) on Tuesday marked the Armed Forces Day, which falls on 11 December every year, and the Retirees Day, which falls on 17 December every year.

The ceremony was held at the military parade ground in Said Bin Sultan Naval Base under the auspices of Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Head of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Royal Anthem was played and the military salute was given to the chief guest.

Then the chief guest inspected the front parade column. Various military and musical shows were staged by the parade column, including military formations, regular and slow march.

After that, the participants at the parade chanted the armed forces anthem and proclaimed thrice Long Live His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.

The chief guest then pinned long service and good conduct medals on RNO personnel in appreciation of their sincere efforts in serving the country and their dedication in performing the national duty

In his turn, Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al-Rahbi, RNO Commander also pinned long service and good conduct medals on RNO personnel in appreciation of their sincere efforts in serving the country.

The ceremony was attended by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Ra’eesi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), commanders of SAF, military and security units, members of the State Council and Shura Council, senior officers at SAF, military and security departments, as well as retired commanders and officers, sheiks and dignitaries of the governorates of South and North Al Batinah and RNO personnel.
