Omicron: Supreme Committee issues new decisions for Oman

Muscat: The Supreme Committee has issued new decisions keeping in mind the new mutant variant of COVID-19 titled omicron, Oman News Agency, ( ONA ), said.

The Supreme Committee has issued new decisions which are as below:

1: Those aged 18 years and above to receive the third dose and booster dose of Covid-19 vaccine. Target groups and approved plan to be announced soon.

2. A unified mechanism to deal with unvaccinated employees of government and private sector facilities as well as students to be adopted for entering units of the state’s administrative apparatus and other public legal persons  The competent authorities will circulate this to all units.

3. The Committee emphasised that entry to mosques, events, activities, international conferences, other events at wedding halls and other venues as well as local events and activities of a nature involving crowds, sports activities and exhibitions, would be held with a 50 per cent capacity of the respective sites. Participation would be limited to those who have been given two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine approved in Oman (those aged 18 and above) and with mandatory physical distancing and masks worn in the correct manner.
