Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MOH), has launched the Shifa Mobile Application on Sunday. The application displays the patient's health data in various health institutions in a smooth and simple way.It is a special electronic application for individuals that saves all medical information and is a platform for exchanging medical information between the patient and the treating doctor.

The Shifa application aims to provide a personal health record for every citizen and resident through which medical data registered in health institutions is obtained, in addition to providing electronic services between the patient and health institutions. It further offers a platform for exchanging health information and consultations with health service providers.

The application facilitates access to the user's medical information from all government health institutions as it allows patients to view health records, medical history, dependents, prescriptions, lab investigations, immunization, procedure reports, vital signs, documents, organ donation, in addition to scheduled appointments and referrals among health institutions.

Shifa application can be downloaded from most stores including the App Store, Google play, or Huawei App Gallery. The Civil number must be activated by the medical records in the health institution. It should be noted that DGIT has recently introduced the application and components to the MOH personnel.

The launch of the application took place on the sidelines of the 10th Pharmaceutical Care Conference held under the auspices of Sheikh Al Fadhl bin Mohammed Al Harthy, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers at the Oman Exhibition & Conferences Center.
