TBY to host Oman Vision 2040 and the Future of Investment panel discussion

Muscat: The Business Year, in partnership with The Ministry of Commerce, Industry& Investment Promotion and the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, is hosting a special event, Oman Vision 2040 and The Future of Investment, Sunday, 12 December at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The event will be attended by 150 top CEOs and government figures, who will gather to discuss the future of investment.

The event is organized in collaboration with The Oman International Development & Investment Company SAOG (OMINVEST), as its Strategic Partner and with the support of leading sponsors.

Sunday’s programme will begin with an address by Qais Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry & Investment Promotion, followed by a speech from Abdullah Al Hakmani, Head of Projects Management Office at the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit.

The event will offer the international business community an opportunity to understand the key pillars of Oman Vision 2040, not only as a wide-ranging blueprint for economic and social development, but also as a roadmap on where the Omani economy is heading in the coming decades.

The panel discussion will feature key personalities from diverse sectors of the country, including Anwar Al Jabri, Group President for Investment Banking at OMINVEST and CEO of Jabreen Capital; Aimen Al Hosni, CEO, Oman Airports; Mohammed Al Harthy, Executive Vice President, Strategic Development Sector of Be’ah; Eng. Saleh Al Rumhi, CEO, Oman Electricity &Transmission Company and Khaled Al Kayed, CEO, Bank Nizwa. The session will be moderated by Mohab Al Hinai, Co-founder of Sustainable Investments and feature debate around the upward competitiveness of Oman in the global landscape, the key strategic sectors leading investments and diversification away from an oil-based economy, environmental, social and governance initiatives, capital preservation and high-risk adjusted investment returns and the role of international stakeholders in the country’s socioeconomic development.
