Muscat: Sohar is one of the first seaports in the Sultanate of Oman that uses underwater drone to photograph, examine and detect issues.
"Sohar Port uses an underwater drone to maintain and photograph underwater facilities. It is one of the most modern technologies used in examining marine facilities in order to facilitate its services provided to industrial projects in the port," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.
Sufyan bin Abdullah Al Maamari, Senior Asset Management Engineer at Sohar Port, said that it is one of the first seaports in the Sultanate of Oman that uses drone technology to examine and detect problems and photograph them underwater to significantly contribute to the development of the service.
