Sayyid Asa’ad welcomes Shabab Oman II in Expo 2020 Dubai

Dubai: His Highness Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan presided over an official welcome ceremony held for Shabab Oman II vessel at Marina Dubai on Sunday evening to take part in Expo 2020 Dubai.

Upon the arrival of the chief guest to the ceremony site, activities began when the joint music band of the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO) and the Royal Cavalry played the Royal Anthem of Oman and the National Anthem of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). When the vessel anchored in the site designated for her, the captain of Shabab Oman II vessel invited HH Sayyid Asa’ad and senior invitees to embark on the vessel.

HH Sayyid Asa’ad greeted the vessel’s crew and congratulated them for their voyage to the GCC states, as well as for their role in highlighting the noble message of Oman towards peace and comradeship through this vessel.

HH Sayyid Asa’ad said, “We encourage and support Omani youth. Shabab Oman II vessel will continue to convey message of peace and harmony among nations”.

He added, “Shabab Oman II vessel has a successful journey as per her preset plans”.

HH Sayyid Asa’ad affirmed, “Youths will enjoy everlasting memories inspired through these voyages via communication with communities”.

HH Sayyid Asa’ad and the guests were briefed on the vessel, her route and the goals achieved. Then, the chief guest toured the vessel. The welcome ceremony for the vessel was organised by the Commission General of Oman Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Present at the ceremony was Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Head of the Diwan of Ruler of Dubai.

The ceremony was also attended by ministers and officials from the Sultanate of Oman and United Arab Emirates and invitees.
Shabab Oman II vessel is anchored in Marina Dubai after visiting GCC ports as part of its 5th international voyage themed “Oman, Renewed Approach.”
