Muscat: Omanis expressed their happiness at watching the military parade and how this year’s national day was different from other years.
Moadh Al Saeedi, from wilayat Al Khaboura in North Al Batinah Governorate, spoke about the military parade on the occasion of the celebration of the glorious 51st National Day: “The military parade was very solemn and gave pride and patriotism to every Omani citizen, in which symbolic units representing Royal Army of Oman (RAO), the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO), the Sultan’s Special Force (SSF), the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the Royal Court Affairs (RCA) and the joint military musical band took part.”
Al Saeedi continued, “With the joint military music playing the anthem when His Majesty ascends the royal cabin while he is wearing civilian clothes, feelings of loyalty to His Majesty the Sultan and a sense of pride of belonging to the homeland are generated within you.”
Al Saeedi continued, “This military parade is the first since His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik took office on January 11, 2020. The 50th glorious National Day was not celebrated with the military parade, so I was waiting for this majestic scene of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the appearance of His Majesty with all anticipation and eagerness to see His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, may God protect him, as well as to watch the symbolic units of the Sultan’s Armed Forces accompanied by the musical pieces of the joint military music, in the form of a parade in the normal course, passing in front of the royal cabin, performing the military salute to His Majesty, the Supreme Commander - may God protect him.”
Al Saeedi added, “I saw one of the symbolic units for the first time in the military parade, while they were wearing camouflage uniforms, as they had not been present in previous military parades, and this added beauty and prestige to the show as they participated in the military parade to celebrate the glorious 51st National Day.”
Al Saeedi added, “My eyes shed tears while listening and watching with longing when the joint military orchestra performed a variety of musical pieces, then the lines of the ceremony guards chanted the military anthem (Faltaslami Oman), and the lines of the ceremony guards chanted the call of loyalty and support (belief in God, loyalty to the Sultan, defending the homeland) and then the chant three times in the life of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander - may God protect him - then the joint military band played the royal anthem, and columns of the ceremony guards performed the military salute to His Majesty the Sultan, marking the end of the military parade.”
Al Saeedi extended his congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik on the occasion of the glorious 51st National Day, to all the symbolic units participating in the military parade, to all those who attended the military parade including their Highnesses, Excellencies, and Advisers, leaders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and other military and security agencies, and heads of diplomatic missions of sisterly and friendly countries accredited to The Sultanate of Oman, honorable members of the State Council, their Excellencies members of the Shura Council, deputy ministers, governors, distinguished judges, members of the Public Prosecution, their Excellencies ambassadors, and a number of their Excellencies the governors, Military attaches, senior commanders and military officers, and senior officials attended the celebration in the state, and a number of officers, non-commissioned officers, and members of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and other military and security agencies in the state.
Adel Al Shanfari, from the wilayat of Salalah in the Governorate of Dhofar, also expressed his feeling of pride in the military parade that was held in the military parade field in the Al Murtafa camp under the patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, may God protect him, “The military parade was wonderful and I enjoyed watching the symbolic units of the Sultan’s armed forces perform the military parade with joint military music playing, it was indeed a solemn military parade.”
Al Shanfari continued, “His Majesty’s appearance in civilian clothes for the military parade in the presence of Their Highnesses, Excellencies, and military leaders was very wonderful. I was eager to watch this scene with the playing of the Royal Anthem and the march of the symbolic units of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, a feeling that inspires pride and pride in every citizen.”
Al Shanfari added, “What differs from the rest of the military parades in the past years is the absence of the audience, due to the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the disease of Covid 19, as I really wished to attend the military parade myself, but for our safety and the safety of the health of citizens, we understand these measures.”
Al Shanfari expressed his congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, may God preserve him, and to all citizens inside and outside the Sultanate, on the occasion of the glorious 51st National Day.
Rashid Al Sedairi from Al Dhahirah Governorate said, “The military parade was wonderful and I really enjoyed watching it, especially as I was waiting to watch the parade queues saluting the military, playing the joint military music the Sultan’s Salaam, and firing the artillery of the Sultan of Oman with the Royal Army of Oman twenty-one rounds in salute to His Majesty - may God protect him.”
Al Sedairi added that the military parade was different in the presence of His Majesty with his sons, His Highness Dhi Yazan bin Haitham bin Tarik and His Highness Belarab bin Haitham bin Tarik, emphasising, “The military parade was very wonderful with distinction.”
