Muscat: Oman Cricket on Sunday announced that it is geared for the 9th Round of the Cricket World Cup (CWC) League 2 Championships to be hosted in Namibia from November 26 to December 6, 2021.
Oman Cricket has announced the squad for the Namibia tour, with Zeeshan Maqsood leading the team. The Oman cricket team left for the tour on November 14, 2021. The League is the qualification pathway tournament towards 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup in India.
Oman, UAE and Namibia will play a 50-over tri-series – in a round-robin group stage format, each pitted against the other twice. Oman is currently at the top of the points table, having played 18 games already in the League 2 competition.
The Oman squad for the CWC League 2 series includes: Zeeshan Maqsood (Captain), Jatinder Singh, Khawar Ali, Aqib Ilyas, Mohammad Nadeem, Ayaan Khan, Suraj Kumar, Sandeep Goud, Nester Dhamba, Kaleemullah, Bilal Khan, Naseem Khushi, Fayyaz Butt and Kashyap Prajapati; Support Staff Duleep Mendis, Head Coach; Mazhar Khan, Assistant Coach; Zeeshan, Analyst; Evert, Trainer; Sean, Physio; Avishkar Salvi, Expert Coach Venkatpathy Raju.

The schedule includes two pending matches of Oman against Namibia and UAE which were postponed in the last series due to the demise of Late Kanaksi Khimji, former President of Oman Cricket.
