Muscat: Immunocompromised patients aged 12 years and above and have completed three months from the date of receiving the last dose of the COVID-19 vaccine are allowed to receive the third dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, the Directorate General of Health Services in North Al Batinah Governorate said.
"The Directorate General of Health Services in North Al Batinah announces that immunocompromised patients from the age of 12 years and above and have completed three months from the date of receiving the last dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can take the third dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine regardless of the previous vaccine used. Categories include :-
1- Patients undergoing cancer treatment and patients who have undergone bone marrow or organ transplants.
2 - Immunocompromised patients and those infected with the uncontrolled human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
3- Patients who have received immunosuppressive drugs or biological agents drugs," the Directorate General said in a statement.
"The date for giving the dose is determined according to the instructions of the attending physician in order to be in line with the stability of the patient’s health condition and not conflict with his other medications," the statement added.
