Muscat: The Environment Authority has been monitoring the African black eagle (Verreaux's Eagle) in Dhofar Governorate.

A statement issued online by Environment Authority said: "The Environment Authority is monitoring the African black eagle (Verreaux's Eagle) in the north of Al-Haq city in the Wilayat of Taqah which is located in Dhofar Governorate."

"It is one of the large preying birds in the high mountains and it nests on the cliffs. Its prey are hyraxes, foxes and young Nubian ibex," the Authority added.
