Ministry issues clarification for hotels and tourist establishments

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has issued a clarification regarding exemptions for hotel and tourist establishments.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism said: "Based on the decision of the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19 that was issued on September 22, 2021, the Ministry would like to state the following for hotel and tourism establishments:

1- Exemption from fines for all licences issued by the Ministry that expired or will expire between June 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021, provided that they are renewed.

2- Exemption from rental fees for owners of small and medium enterprises for the activities indicated in the resolution (holders of the entrepreneurship card), which are located within the real estate owned by government agencies and bodies."

"The Ministry invites the beneficiaries of its services to take advantage of the period of exemptions for fines and to urgently correct their situation, before December 31, 2021," the Ministry added.
