Red Bull Neymar Jr's Five Qualifiers Kick Off and an Omani Team Heads to the World Final

After a two-year COVID pause, the Red Bull Neymar Jr's Five 5vs5 tournament returns to give fans of football—the most popular sport in Oman—the chance to showcase their skills in a lively, competitive setting. The winning team has the opportunity to face Neymar Jr himself if they triumph over all other qualified teams from around the world at the anticipated World Final in Qatar early next year.

Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five is the largest international tournament for five-a-side football teams. The Omani qualifiers, held in partnership with Red Bull MOBILE and talabat Oman, launched in Muscat on October 29 and 30, with more than 100 participants competing in two phases at Al Mouj GCM Lawn, and 16 teams qualifying from each stage. The third and fourth phases took place at the Al Hilal Club in Sohar on November 5 and 6, totaling an impressive 448 competing participants overall.

The local finals see 16 teams participating on November 12 in Yankit, a breathtaking location near a fisherman’s cove. The face-offs will crown the team representing Oman in the World Finals in Qatar.
The tournament is fast-paced, tactical, and fun. Each team consists of five players and two reserves. During a 10-minute match, two five-a-side teams compete without a goalkeeper. When one team scores a goal, the other loses a player, and the match ends when one team loses all players or depending on the results at the buzzer.

Players have a unique chance to get Oman’s football hero Captain Ali Al Habsi’s support. A national hero and goalkeeper to major European clubs, Al Habsi will offer invaluable advice to participants who want to "Outplay Them All" when facing Neymar Jr in a group of five of his fellow stars.
