Night temperatures drop to low 20s in Oman as winter comes knocking
Several places in Oman recorded temperatures of 21 degrees, including Ibri in Ad Dhahirah, Nizwa in Ad Dakhiliyah, Sur, and Al Askhara in the Sharqiyah regions, Rustaq in Al Batinah, and Duqm and Haima in Al Wusta.

Muscat: Night time temperatures in several parts of Oman plummeted to the lower twenties, signalling the arrival of the cooler winter months.

The only exception to this rule was the Saiq plateau located near Nizwa and Jabal Akhdar recorded a minimum of 12 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, 9 November 2021.

The capital Muscat stayed a pleasant 23 degrees, as did Khasab in the northern Musandam Governorate, the Dhofari capital of Salalah, and the border town of Buraimi, according to data released by the Directorate General of Meteorology at the Civil Aviation Authority.

Even lower temperatures were seen in Thumrait in the Dhofar and Ibra in North Ash Sharqiyah (both 20 degrees).

The temperature on Masirah Island, however, was slightly higher at 24 degrees.

People living in the Musandam Governorate have been asked by the Civil Aviation Authority to look out for “clear to partly cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain and occasional thundershowers over Musandam and the Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas during the afternoon and evening.”

Other parts of the country can expect mainly clear skies with chances of late night to early morning low-level clouds or fog patches over the northern parts of the Dhofar Governorate, and Al Wusta, added the government body.
