Muscat: His Majesty, Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, has issued several new directives, including on the price of fuel, promotion for government employees and evaluation of government institutions.
Oman TV reported on Tuesday, “His Majesty the Sultan directs to fix vehicle fuel prices according to the average of last October 2021 as a maximum, so that the government bears the resulting difference.”
He also directed the promotion of government employees affiliated with the civil service system and other civil systems who are eligible for seniority in 2011 as from next year 2022.
“Establishing an independent unit under His Majesty the Sultan to measure the performance of government institutions, ensure the continuity of their evaluation, and suggest mechanisms to raise their efficiency, while measuring the quality of services and the satisfaction of their beneficiaries,” Oman TV said. He reviewed the results of performance by government institutions for the year 2020-2021 and efforts by all sectors to improve performance and provide better services for the public interest.
After his review of the local situation, His Majesty stressed on the importance of concerted efforts by all state institutions in accelerating the development of government services, continuing the implementation of digital transformation initiatives and finding comprehensive solutions to challenges, according to the Oman News Agency (ONA).
He also directed the cancellation of a package of fees related to activities in some sectors, as well as the reduction of other fees.
