
Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,033.72 points, down 0.40 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by 0.33 per cent at 550.38 points.
Al Madina Investment was the top gainer, up by 5.26 per cent, while National Bank Oman, down 4.64 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Anwar Investment was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 290 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1 million, with more than 8.6 million shares changing hands. Out of 41 traded securities, 6 advanced, 13 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR166,000 while local investors were net buyers for OMR84,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR81,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,360 points, down 0.64 per cent. Prices of Al Madina Investment and Bank Muscat were up 5.26 per cent and 0.41 per cent respectively. National Bank Oman, Madina Takaful, United Finance, Taageer Finance and Ominvest were down 4.64 per cent, 2.06 per cent, 1.75 per cent, 1.33 per cent and 1.28 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,169.66 points, up 0.15 per cent. Prices of Oman Cables Industry and Al Anwar Ceramics were up 3.06 per cent and 0.93 per cent respectively. NAPI, Al Maha Ceramics and Jazeera Steel Product were down 1.37 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 0.53 per cent respectively.
Services Index down by 0.13 per cent before closing at 1,652.24 points. Dhofar Generating and Oman National Engineering were up 1.32 per cent and 1.09 per cent respectively. OIFC, Omantel and Renaissance Services were down 0.71 per cent, 0.54 per cent and 0.44 per cent respectively.
