Agreement signed to set up nine greenhouses

Muscat: An agreement on construction of nine greenhouses in a number of Al Wafa Centres for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities was signed on Monday by the Ministry of Social Development.

The agreement was signed between the National Finance Company and Dar Al Atta’a Association in the presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development.

The agreement was signed by Tariq bin Sulaiman Al Farsi, CEO of  National Finance Company on behalf of the company, while on behalf of Dar Al Atta’a it was signed by Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a.

The agreement came within the partnership and cooperation efforts adopted by the Ministry of Social Development with the various private and civil entities for provision of best services for the persons with disabilities, said Hamoud bin Mardad  Al Shabibi, Director General of the Directorate General for Persons with Disabilities.

These efforts included construction of greenhouses which serve this sector in the various wilayats in the agricultural and marketing fields, he added.

Dr. Shamsa bint Hamad Al Harthi, Director General of Dar Al Atta’s Association said that the agreement came within the framework of initiation of sustainable projects that serve the persons with disabilities who receive rehabilitation programmes at Al Wafa Centres.  

Lina bint Mubarak Al Abdulsalam, Head of Marketing Unit at the National Finance Company praised the cooperation efforts between the government sector and the private sector on supporting Al Wafa Centres, which included providing the persons with disabilities with the training opportunities at such greenhouses.
