Permits for importing reptiles, wild insects into Oman suspended

Muscat: The Environment Authority has suspended granting permits to import reptiles and wild insects from Sunday, November 7,2021 until further notice .

"The Environment Authority announces the suspension of granting permits to import reptiles and wild insects, as November 7,2021 until further notice. This procedure by the authority comes due to considerations related to the impact of these species on the local species, as well as their impact on the ecosystem," the Authority said in a statement.
