Muscat: Based on the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Shura Council held the third annual session of the ninth period (2019-2023) on Sunday, November 7, 2021.
"Based on the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Shura Council opens the third annual session of the ninth period (2019-2023) by holding its first session under the chairmanship of His Excellency Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Council," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.
The session’s work includes re-electing the six members who complement the membership of the Shura, opening the door for candidacy to chair the committees, and the position of deputy chairmen of the committees for each committee separately, in accordance with the bylaws and regulations regulating the work of the Council.
His Excellency Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council, said in his speech: "We begin the work of the third annual session of the ninth period, and we are all aware of the size of the responsibilities and efforts required by the national action process, which requires the Council to give it the utmost attention and place it among the priorities of its annual plans and programmes."
"We in the Shura Council are very keen to follow up the events and developments that the Sultanate of Oman is going through, solicit opinions and observations, read data and indicators, analyse them and use them to serve national interests," Chairman of the Shura Council added.
