Muscat: After it was exposed to a fire last June, the Environment Authority began to rehabilitate Mount Harak and plant it with trees.
Environment Authority said in a statement: "With the aim of rehabilitating the affected sites in the Ras Al Haraq area of the Wilayat of Al Hamra as a result of the fire that occurred last June, the Environment Agency, in cooperation with the specialists in the Omani Botanical Garden and with the participation of a number of volunteers from the people of the Wilayat, planted a number of seedlings of Alaalan, Albot and Al Atm trees."
"Work was carried out with the support of the Royal Air Force of Oman. The personnel and seedlings that were planted in the area were transported, and protections were installed around the seedlings to avoid being eaten by stray animals and to ensure their growth," EA added.
