Riyadh: The Omani-Saudi Technical Forum was launched on Tuesday in Riyadh.

The forum aims to enhance cooperation between Omani and Saudi emerging technology companies, open the door for commercial expansion of technology companies and enhance investment in innovation and technology in both countries.

The Omani delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is headed by Eng. Said bin Hamoud bin Said Al-Ma'awali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

The forum witnessed presentations on strategies and programmes related to the digital economy in the two countries and support for technology companies, in addition to seminars and workshops to exchange experiences and knowledge between the two brotherly countries, with the participation of emerging Omani and Saudi technology companies in the field of digital transformation, the Internet of Things, technical industries, artificial intelligence and drones.

Through the National Program for the Digital Economy, the Sultanate of Oman seeks to actively contribute to building and developing a prosperous digital economy that responds to the requirements of the future, enhances the local added value of the digital economy, and creates sustainable income-generating opportunities that keep pace with technical development, in addition to creating a strategic partnership with private sector institutions and attracting foreign technical investments. to the Sultanate.
