Over 2,600 accused processed by Public Prosecution in October

Muscat: Public Prosecution has dealt with more than 2,600 accused in several different cases in the mont of October 2021.

According to monthly statistics released by Public Prosecution, the number of cases received reached 2,387 in October 2021 compared to 2,464 cases in September 2021. The number of judicial orders issued rose to 11,951 in October, compared to 11,757 in September. The judicial decisions issued witnessed a decline by 18.9 per cent in October to reach 2,295 compared to 2,829 in September.

The number of investigation reports has decreased by 13.8 per cent to reach 7,344 in October compared to 8,520 in September. The total number of complaints received electronically also decreased in October to reach 313 compared to 351 in September. The number of requests received by the Auditors Service Department was 61, compared to 60 in September. The Public Prosecution dealt with 2,678 accused in October compared to 2,793 accused in September.
