Muscat: Three expats have been arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) for smuggling and possessing narcotic substances.
"The Police Command of South Al Batinah Governorate, in cooperation with the General Department of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control, arrested three expatriates on charges of smuggling and possessing narcotic substances with the intention of trafficking. Around 50 packages of crystal drugs were found in their possession. The legal procedures are being completed against them, " ROP said in a statement.
In another instance, the Police Command of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate arrested an expatriate woman on charges of theft and setting fire to the house in which she worked after stealing gold jewellery, mobile phones and money. The accused was arrested before she left the country. Legal procedures are being completed against her.
