Oman Embassy clarifies travel guidelines for Thailand

Muscat: The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Bangkok has clarified the procedures for entering the Kingdom of Thailand, which will be applied from Monday, November 1, 2021.

"Omani citizens wishing to visit Thailand must meet the entry requirements, and to avoid being subject to the quarantine regime, must adhere to the following procedures that will be applied starting from November 1, 2021:

1- A full vaccination certificate at least 14 days before travel. People under 12 years of age who travel with parents are exempted from vaccination requirements.

 2- A medical certificate confirming the negative result of the COVID-19 test (RT-PCR) issued no more than 72 hours before travelling.

 3- One night hotel reservation with payment of the cost of the COVID-19 test.

 4- An insurance policy with a financial coverage of not less than 50,000 US dollars, including the cost of COVID-19 treatment.

5- The traveller must have resided in the countries included in the list of low-risk countries - including the Sultanate, for a period of not less than 21 days prior to travel.

 6- People previously infected with COVID-19 within three months, must have received at least one dose of the vaccine 14 days prior to travel.

7- Register on the website https://tp.consular.go.th at least 7 days before travel, with the required documents uploaded.

 8- Waiting for approval and getting a QR Code.
 

Upon arrival in Thailand, one must :

1- Submit the QR Code to the health authorities at the airport, and follow the immigration procedures.

 2- To undergo an RT - PCR test at the place of residence, or at the test centre designated in advance.

 3- Going to the hotel by means of transport designated in advance.

 4- Download and install MorChana application in the hotel.

5- Waiting for the test result at the hotel. If the result is negative, the traveller can go out and move freely around the country." the Embassy of the Sultanate Of Oman in Bangkok said in a statement.

The embassy added that a traveller who has not completed the vaccination requirements will be subject to a 10-day quarantine. For more information, please refer to the registration website.
