Salalah Airport receives first direct flight from Poland

Muscat: At the start of the winter tourism season in the Governorate of Dhofar, Salalah Airport received the first direct flight from the Republic of Poland, carrying more than 250 passengers.

Marwan Al Ghassani, Director of the Promotion Department at the General Directorate of Heritage and Tourism in the Governorate of Dhofar, clarified that the return of tourism to the governorate was a priority of the Ministry through the comprehensive recovery plan that it developed to face the repercussions of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said that the plan included stimulating and enabling international tourism by attracting charter flights, and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism was intensifying promotional efforts for the Governorate of Dhofar as an ideal tourist destination throughout the year.

He explained that the Governorate of Dhofar possesses all the elements of tourist attractions and landmarks that have enabled it to become one of the favorite tourist destinations.

Dhofar Governorate receives annually in the winter tourism season tourist groups from Germany, France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and other European countries.
