Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will celebrate Omani Youth Day, which falls on October 26 every year.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said: "Tomorrow, the Sultanate of Oman celebrates the Omani Youth Day, which falls on October 26 of each year. This confirms the vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik and his great interest in young people and work to achieve their hopes and ambitions."
Referring to the role of Omani youth in the development process as they are the present and future of the nation, His Majesty the Sultan stressed at the cabinet meeting held on October 12, the importance of finding channels of communication with them to meet the requirements in various sectors.
His Majesty directed the governors, with the participation of the concerned authorities, to hold periodic meetings with young people for this purpose, to discuss topics of interest and to listen to their views in order to help them perform their desired role.
His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, spoke about the vital role of youth in continuing the building process of Oman.
His Highness indicated that the Omani youth have proven that they have a high degree of national responsibility and are fully aware of their issues. They also have a clear vision and strong determination to participate in building Oman.
