Shaheen cleanup support teams welcomed back home by Dhofar Municipality

Muscat: Support teams sent by Dhofar Municipality to assist in the cleanup and reconstruction efforts in North Al Batinah post-cyclone Shaheen have returned home.

On their return, they were welcomed by the mayor of Dhofar, who praised their efforts towards helping their countrymen.
“Dhofar Municipality received the teams that were sent to support the efforts being taken to deal with the effect of cyclone Shaheen in North Al Batinah, on their return,” said a statement from the municipal corporation.

On their arrival, they were met by Dr Ahmed bin Mohsen Al Ghassani, the chairman of Dhofar Municipality, and a number of municipality officials.

For their efforts, dedication and sincerity in helping out in North Al Batinah, the municipality team members who went north were met with praise.

While in North Al Batinah, teams from Dhofar Municipality helped disinfect areas of standing water, to prevent the spread of water-borne diseases, cleared debris from roads and homes, and removed dead and uprooted trees to allow traffic to flow once again.

They also installed pedestrian and traffic signs that had been swept away in the flooding caused by Shaheen.
The teams returned to Dhofar on the night of Friday, 22 October.
