Agriculture Ministry launches outlets at mall to sell dates

Muscat: With the participation of more than 40 date producers, the marketing outlets for the sale of Omani dates will be launched from Friday, October 22, 2021 till October 31, 2021.

"Tomorrow, the marketing outlets for the sale of Omani dates will be launched at Oman Avenues Mall in its first edition, organised by the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources in cooperation with Avenues Mall, and with more than 40 participants from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman to display varieties of Omani dates and their derivatives using innovative and modern marketing methods.These marketing outlets will continue until October 31," said Oman News Agency (ONA).

These outlets come to compliment the efforts made by the ministry for the continuous development of the agricultural sector. It also aims to introduce the value of Omani dates and their importance in terms of food and health. In addition to promoting cultural and heritage awareness of the status of the date palm and its importance to the Omani person.

 The marketing outlets also aim to stimulate competition among farmers to take care of the palm tree and encourage investment to increase local production, raise quality, and work on marketing them in a way that supports farmers and contributes to increasing their income, which strengthens the social fabric and raises the local economy.
