Horse racing season (2021 – 2022) will kick off at Al Rahba Racecourse

Muscat: In response to the Royal Orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the horse races season (2021 – 2022) will kick off at Al Rahba Racecourse in the Wilayat of Barka on Thursday. The season is organised by the Royal Horse Racing Club.

Dr. Sarhan Salim Al Zeidi, Director General of the Royal Cavalry, Supervisor General of the Races told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the horse races seasons (2021 – 2022) will include 20 races.

He added that the season will witness three major races namely the National Day Cup on 19 November 2021, the Oman Derby Cup on 18 December 2021 and the Final Race on 1 April 2022.

As for the first race to be held on Thursday (21 October 2021), there will be 8 rounds; 6 round will be dedicated for pure Arabian horses whereas 2 rounds will be for thoroughbred horses.
