Pakistan Navy ship pays visit to Port Sultan Qaboos
The event was attended by diplomats, including ambassadors and military attaches of various countries.

Muscat: In pursuance of the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to regional security and affirmation of its role as a force with global outlook, PNS Tariq (with embarked helicopter) visited Port Sultan Qaboos, Muscat from 13 to 17 October 2021 on a goodwill visit during its Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP).

The RMSP is a Pakistan Navy initiative of maintaining a presence in critical sea lanes in order to contribute to regional maritime security and freedom of navigation. During the stay in port, the ship hosted a reception on board, while abiding by the SOPs and instructions issued by the Supreme Committee dealing with COVID-19.

The event was attended by diplomats, including ambassadors and military attaches of various countries, senior officers from the Royal Navy of Oman and the Royal Army of Oman, as well as prominent Pakistani community members. Officers and men from the Royal Navy of Oman also visited the ship for professional briefings and interactions.

The ship’s visit was aimed at strengthening the bonds of friendship between the Sultanate of Oman and Pakistan in general and Royal Navy of Oman and the Pakistan Navy in particular, as well as exploring new vistas for future collaborative initiatives between the two brotherly countries.

Upon departing Port Sultan Qaboos, PNS Tariq conducted a passage exercise (PASSEX) with Sadah from the Royal Navy of Oman.
